Freudenberg Performance Materials developed Evolon®, a patented technology spinning endless BiCo filaments with standard titer using the spunlaid process. The PIE filaments are split, entangled and bonded by high water pressure jets. The result is a unique technical textile with a microfilament structure that provides woven-like mechanical strength and softness.

Friction inserts

With our Friction Inserts, we can provide a solution for higher demands. “By using this innovative technology in between two joining components, you can achieve a static friction coefficient of up to µ=0.95. This enables you not only to transmit higher shear forces and torques, but also design lighter and more compact components without any sacrifice in performance” explains Tobias Speth, Application Engineer at Freudenberg Performance Materials.

Battery Pack Liquid Absorbers

Battery packs are the core elements of mobile and stationary lithium-ion energy storage systems. They are used in automotive and industrial applications. The performance and lifespan of these components are largely responsible for the efficiency of the energy storage system. Moisture inside the packs can considerably diminish both function and lifespan. Battery Pack Liquid Absorbers from Freudenberg prevent this by reliably absorbing liquids inside battery packs.

Even more sustainable: Freudenberg presents Evolon® made from post-consumer recycled PET

Weinheim, 29 June, 2021. With Evolon® RE, Freudenberg Performance Materials (Freudenberg) is now offering its customers an even more sustainable version of its high-performance microfilament textiles.

Evolon® RE is manufactured from an average of 70% recycled polyester, which the company makes by recycling post-consumer PET bottles in-house.

Evolon® RE is available for various applications, including high-tech wiping and technical packaging, in weights currently ranging from 80g/sqm to 300g/sqm. Evolon® RE offers the same high and constant quality as all other Evolon® textiles.

This applies to mechanical and textile properties as well as to filtration, cleaning and protection properties.
